A lifelong musician and performer, Austin, Texas' Barbie De Facto redefines expectations in synthpop. Veering away from the indie-electro sounds of today, Barbie De Facto's soaring vocals and affinity for throwback rhythms recall late 90's sensibilities - the power of Tracey Thorn with Janet Jackson's groove.
In 2015, leveraging the talents of Grammy-nominated producer Tim Gerron and accomplished songwriter Heath Tull, an electro-centric vision of Barbie De Facto was conceived, culminating in a self-titled EP released on June 23, 2018. The project's potential was acknowledged early in its life, achieving recognition and airplay from must-listen podcast "How Did I Get Here?" and indie radio darling "The Girlie Show" on Austin's KOOP radio.
Fresh off an EP release show that sold out minutes after announcement, Barbie De Facto is accepting bookings at upscale venues nationally while growing a world-class brand and global social following.
